Having singing lessons is all very well and good but singing should be a social activity that involves other singers and an audience. This is why I organise two concerts each year to give my students the opportunity to sing in public.

The concerts are held in a local church hall and the audience is made up of the family and friends of the singers. This ensures that the atmosphere is friendly and supportive and that no one is under pressure from the 'paying public' when everyone becomes a critic!

The programmes for these concerts usually include a wide range of solo songs, duets, trios and small-scale choir arrangements. The music is carefully chosen to ensure that no one is singing beyond their current ability and that the experience is a positive one.
